Burning Tree consists of Dag Erik Knedal Andersen on drums and Dag Stiberg on sax. The duo have created a harsh free jazz record inspired by the great duo records of the seventies where the A side contained material more easily absorbed and the B side dug deeper with a side-long cut. Dirty sax and euphoric drums work at developing the duo's idea of using form and intensity from noise music in a free jazz setting. With only one tape release out previously Burning Tree have accomplished a massive undertaking with their full length.

This may be my all-time favourite SUNN O))) LP. Hell-O)))-Ween is excellent, SUB-BASS and then some. BassAliens begins pretty chilled, develops a twang to it similar to Earth circa Hex, then becomes an organic yet alien sound which could soundtrack the creature in John Carpenter's The Thing. I really like the choral elements to Decay2. Always after listening to this LP I'm in the mood for Unearthly Trance's Deathothic from their In the Red LP. Favourite track: Decay2 [Nihils' Maw] Master of Alchemy
